- Realized P&L: Profit or loss from closed trades during the specified period.
- Cumulative Realized P&L: Total profit or loss realized from all closed positions since the account registration.
- Unrealized P&L: Paper profit or loss from open positions during the specified period.
- P&L: Represents the sum of Realized P&L and the difference between current and previous Unrealized P&L.
- Cumulative P&L: Total sum of cumulative realized and unrealized profits or losses.
Example Calculation:
- Realized P&L: Profit from closed trades today: $500.
- Cumulative Realized P&L: Total profit since account opening: $3,000.
- Unrealized P&L: Current open position shows a paper loss of $200.
- Previous Unrealized P&L: Yesterday’s open position showed a paper loss of $100.
P&L = \$500 + [(-\$200) – (-\$100)] = \$500 – (-\$100 + \$200) = \$500 + \$100 = \$600
- Cumulative P&L: Total profit or loss considering both realized and unrealized amounts.
